Parent participation

Our parent community provides the support that we need to keep a low child-teacher ratio every day.

Classroom participation allows parents to share the preschool experience with their child, meet their child(ren)’s friends, and other parents.  Participating Parents work with highly experienced teachers to provide children with a positive, supportive learning environment. In light of the recent health crisis, we are adapting our parent participation program so make sure our classrooms are safe for your child. Please contact us to learn more about how we are setting up our programs to make sure all of our children and teachers are safe.

2s-3s program:

  • 1-2 participating parents daily

  • each family is assigned 9-10 parent participation days a school year

A limited number of reduced (50%) participation contracts are available.

3s-4s program:

  • 1 participating parent 4 days a week from 8:45am-12pm

  • each family is assigned 10 parent participation days a school year

A limited amount of reduced (50%) participation and buy-out contracts are available.

Pre-K program:

While parents are not required to participate on a regular basis, there are a handful of field trips and classroom celebrations throughout the school year that rely on parent support.  We also encourage our parents to come into the classroom when their schedules allow.  They can spend time with the children reading, singing, playing games, directing an art or cooking project, and more!

All TOPS families are required to:

  • serve on a parent committee (executive board, fundraising, maintenance, or special events)

  • work at one of the 4 scheduled Saturday morning maintenance days (August, October, February, or April)

A limited number of maintenance day and committee buy-outs are available
